A wide range of SSL certificates, supporting encryption of websites
The certificate increases trust of visitors and supports encryption of the connection between the browser and the server. We offer Domain Validation (DV), Organization Validation (OV), Extended Validation (EV) and Wildcard certificates.
Regardless of the offer below, in each package of hosting , the option to generate free SSL certificates is available.
Basic differences between the types of certificates available
In addition to the certificate issuer and the size of the guarantee, if any, we distinguish between several main types:
Free certificates
Each hosting package Servizza comes with a free SSL certificate (Let’s Encrypt, cPanel, Inc. Certification Authority). The option is available in the form of the so-called AutoSSL, which is an automaton that generates certificates for each (sub)domain installed within a given hosting package. The same automaton renews certificates every 3 months, so the user does not have to remember about it. Additionally, there is a possibility to 'manually’ edit service parameters.
When can I use a free SSL certificate?
In cases where:
- there is no need for additional protection of e-business in the form of certificate issuer’s guarantee,
- not required by additional legal regulations (e.g. GDPR, financial institutions),
- no additional functionality is needed (e.g. visible company name).
Wildcard certificates
Domain Validation (DV)
Wildcard Certificates allow to secure all subdomains for a selected domain with one certificate. In practice it means that Wildcard for servizza.pl allows you to secure also for example www.servizza.pl, pomoc.servizza.pl, blog.servizza.pl etc.
It is the basic form of security that allows protection of data transmitted in the certified domain. When issuing a certificate only the domain is verified.
Organization Validation (OV)
Extended Validation (EV)
It is an extended type of authentication. Like the basic model, the OV certificate also provides encryption of transmitted information within a designated domain. When issuing the certificate not only the domain itself is verified but also the applying company. During the verification, the company or person applying for OV certificate may be asked for the extract from the National Court Register or the contract of the company. The main feature for this type of certificate is the company name appearing after clicking on the security seal (usually in the form of a padlock symbol).
This type of certificate is also sometimes referred to as full authentication. Having it is a clear message to users that the website has the strongest identity verification. This is manifested by the visible name of the company and a green check mark in the URL bar of the domain. When issuing an EV certificate, both the site and the company are subject to detailed verification. The company or applicant is checked for: actual physical presence, legal status, real business, compliance with official data, etc.
